About Kankaria Lake
Kankaria Lake is a historic 34-sided lake in south-east Ahmedabad, completed in 1451 under Sultan Qutb-ud-Din Ahmad Shah II. An island called Nagina Wadi sits at its centre. Today the lakefront is a public recreation area, with a toy train, the Balvatika children's park and the Kamla Nehru Zoo.
