About Bhalka Tirth
Bhalka Tirth is a Krishna temple on the Prabhas Patan–Veraval road, a few kilometres from Somnath Temple. By tradition, Krishna was resting under a peepal tree here when the hunter Jara mistook his foot for a deer and shot an arrow; Krishna left the earth soon after. The sandstone shrine holds an idol of Krishna in a semi-reclining pose.
