About Gir Jungle Safari
The Gir Jungle Safari is the forest department's open-jeep safari into Gir National Park and Sanctuary, home of the Asiatic lion. Jeeps leave from the reception centre at Sinh Sadan in Sasan and follow fixed forest routes with a trained guide. Besides lions, the hilly forest shelters leopards, spotted deer, sambar, nilgai and more than 300 kinds of birds.
